  • Distribution
  • Factoring Out
I think this would be great with grade 7-9's or remedial math students to give them the feel for working with algebraic expressions and equations.

Have them do the process on the iPad, explain it in words (without reference to a specific question or numbers), and then write it on the page in a more conventional way so that someone without an iPad could follow the reasoning.

iLaser Level
iDevices ~~ $.99
iLaserLevel allows you to find out inclination level without having to put target object and level together.
There is no need forcontact between object and iPhone.

I think this could be a great tool for having students learn practical uses of trig. Ask them to determine the height of a building or a tree. Help them explore the relationship between angle of inclination and angle of depression.Make a connection with a near-by trade school surveying class and have them do a series of challenges guided by older student mentors.

"helps students learn about fractions, decimals, and percents by ordering equivalent fractions, decimals, and percents on a number line.
The app features multiple levels where the player must drag circles with either a percent, decimal or fraction onto a number line in the correct sequence."
Ask the students to screen-capture the problem they start with, set the mobile device aside, and do group problem solving and illustrations to demonstrate the equivalencies. Have them check their solutions on their mobile devices.
